Watch Illan Meslier Gift Arsenal Comedy Goal As Eddie Nketiah Tackles Leeds Keeper In Box

Arsenal received a welcome gift from Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier inside the opening five minutes of Sunday's Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium.

Luke Ayling passed the ball back to Meslier, who overestimated how much time he had.

Meslier controlled the ball before attempting to clear it, but he was unable to complete his second touch as Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah tackled him to score.

Nketiah, who spent half of the 2019/20 season on loan at Leeds, scored again moments later to give Arsenal a 2-0 advantage after 10 minutes.

Things went from bad to worse for Leeds when Luke Ayling was shown a straight red card on 27 minutes for a two-footed lunge on Gabriel Martinelli.

Raphinha was subsequently booked for dissent, which saw Leeds set a new Premier League record for the most yellow cards received in a season.

Ten-man Leeds managed to pull a goal back in the second half through Diego Llorente.

But a 2-1 defeat left the Yorkshire club in the relegation zone after Everton won 2-1 at Leicester.
