Report: Gareth Bale Agrees To Rejoin Tottenham (Again) When Real Madrid Contract Ends

Gareth Bale could be set to join Tottenham Hotspur for the third time in his career this summer.

Bale first became a Spurs player in 2007 when he was a skinny left-back from Southampton with a big reputation for free-kicks.

He left White Hart Lane six years later as one of the most powerful attacking players in world soccer, when Real Madrid broke the world transfer record to take him to Spain.

Despite winning four Champions League titles and scoring over 100 goals for Real, Bale's popularity in Madrid has plummeted in recent years, so much so that they were happy for him go back to Spurs on loan in the 2020/21 season.

Bale scored 11 goals and added two assists in 921 Premier League minutes that season, which is significantly more game time than he has received since returning to Real.

His Real career will conclude for good in June 2022 when his current contract ends. It has even been suggested by some that he may call time on his playing days completely.

But a report by Spanish publication El Nacional has claimed that Bale will play on and has already agreed his next deal, which it is said will also be his last.

Bale will sign for Spurs in June, according to to El Nacional. They also report that the player could have moved in January, but held off in order to continue collecting his full Madrid wages before picking up a handsome signing-on fee in London.

With 53 goals, Bale is Tottenham's sixth highest scorer in Premier League history.

He scored twice on his most recent appearance for Spurs - a 4-2 win at Leicester on the final day of last season.
