Mo Salah Scores 100th Left-Footed Goal Of His EPL Career As Liverpool Beat Man City

Liverpool 1-0 Manchester City

Manchester City suffered defeat for the first time in the Premier League this season when they fell to a 1-0 loss at Liverpool on Sunday.

Mo Salah scored the game's only goal on 76 minutes by collecting a long kick from goalkeeper Alisson Becker, turning Joao Cancelo and beating Ederson with a precise left-footed shot.

Salah is now the second player in EPL history to score 100 left-footed goals, after Robbie Fowler (105).

The Egyptian's landmark goal came just six minutes after Ederson had thwarted him with a brilliant fingertip save.

City dominated the game in terms of possession (64%) and thought they had taken the lead themselves early in the second half.

Phil Foden found the net after Alisson had got to the ball before Erling Haaland only to spill it into the City midfielder's path.

The goal was originally awarded by the on-field team of officials but a VAR review found that two fouls had been committed in the build-up, both by Haaland - on Fabinho and then Alisson.

City's defeat saw them fall four points behind EPL leaders Arsenal, who won 1-0 at Leeds earlier on Sunday.

Arsenal had been scheduled to host title rivals City on Wednesday, October 19, but that fixture was postponed because the Gunners needed to rearrange a Europa League match for Thursday.
